Coaching for Ottawa owner-operators.

Feast and famine on government contract cycles. The problem is almost never demand — it is cash flow across a dead quarter and pricing that assumes twelve good months.

You know what it costs before you speak to me. The number doesn't change based on how the call goes.

Ottawa · National Capital Region

And if you want the advertising run, here's what's different about Ottawa

Population 1 million (2021 census). The three things below are true of Ottawa and would be wrong about most other Ontario cities.

French search is under-served and materially cheaper

Ottawa–Gatineau is a genuinely bilingual market, and a large share of local advertisers run English-only campaigns. Running a parallel French keyword set and French ad copy typically faces a thinner auction, and for a business that can actually serve a French-speaking customer it is one of the few remaining places in Ontario where paid search is not fully bid up. It only works if the landing experience and the phone call are also in French — running French ads to an English page wastes the click and annoys the customer.

The government cycle shapes B2B demand more than the calendar does

A meaningful part of the professional-services economy here moves with federal procurement and the fiscal year ending 31 March. If you sell to that world, demand is not evenly distributed across twelve months, and a flat monthly ad budget spends the same in a dead month as in a peak one. Budget pacing matters more here than in most Ontario cities.

The city is geographically enormous and mostly rural

Amalgamated Ottawa covers a huge area, much of it farmland and villages — Manotick, Richmond, Osgoode, Carp. A service area drawn as "Ottawa" on a map includes a great deal of ground you probably will not drive to. Drawing it around the urban core plus the specific villages you will actually serve stops you paying for clicks from forty minutes out.

Coverage

Service areas we build around.

In the SEO packages each of these counts as one service area. Core covers four, Plus covers eight, Enhanced covers the province.

I'm not based in Ottawa. Daylight works with Ontario businesses remotely and there's no office here you can visit. I'd rather tell you on the page than on the call — a location page implying a storefront it doesn't have is the oldest trick in local SEO.

Coaching over video works identically wherever you are. For advertising, what matters is your profile and your address, not mine.

Questions

Ottawa, answered

Do you run French-language ads?
We build and manage French campaigns, and we will be straight with you about the limit: we are not a translation agency. Ad copy and keywords in French we handle. If your landing page, your intake form and the person answering the phone are English-only, a French campaign will generate clicks and lose the customer, and we would tell you to fix that first.
Is Kanata worth targeting separately from Ottawa?
Usually yes. Kanata functions as its own centre with its own tech employment base, and residents search it by name. It behaves more like a separate city than a neighbourhood, and in the SEO packages we would normally count it as its own service area rather than folding it into a city-wide target.
Do you offer business coaching in Ottawa?
Yes, and it's the main thing I do. Coaching runs over video so being in Ottawa makes no practical difference — the free first conversation, the $350 single session and $750 a month all work the same wherever you are. The city-specific material on this page is about advertising, where geography genuinely changes the answer.
Are you based in Ottawa?
No. Daylight works with Ontario businesses remotely and there's no office here to visit. I'm saying so plainly because plenty of location pages imply a storefront that doesn't exist. It has no bearing on your rankings — your Google Business Profile, your address and your reviews decide those.
